Born November 30, 1984 to the union of
Chuck and Ronda Lockett. My parents recall to me that as a toddler, I
sang in my sleep as well as to jingles on TV and radio. During my
preschool years in 1988, my family traveled to Germany where I continued
to sing in various choirs in my church and schools while there. I
attended elementary school in Shreveport, LA at Caddo Heights Elementary
school and Bright Start Baptist Church where I was also active in the
choirs.
My father resigned from the military Army) in 1995 and our family
returned to Shreveport, LA where I resumed attending Bright Star BC and
attended middle school at Youree Drive Middle school. I was active in
the school choir under the direction of Mr. Charles Washington and
received several Superior awards for participating in State and local
singing festivals, in addition to being the 4-H club President.
Captain Shreve High was where I focused more on academic studies, being
that they did not have a choir. Nevertheless, I sang with the young
ladies of Zie'l in many churches and social events . After high school,
I attended Bossier Parish Community College in which I majored in
Communication and Broadcast and sang in the gospel choir under the
direction of Leones Richardson, where I earned a scholarship.
In 2005, I had the opportunity to sing background for Micah Stampley at
Bishop T.D. Jakes' The Potters House. In preparation for various exit
exams via student study aids,I sang on the test preparation material CD.
I remain with our group, Zie'l, and look forward to our debut CD under
the Gospel Warehouse Records/LIGHT Records label and aspire to see many
great blessings in our future through Christ who strengthens me! |
